This is a very interesting flavor. To be honest when I first tried it I was not quite sure whether or not I liked it. It is just very different. Now it is my favorite along with Holiday Traditions. One of those two are my first cup every morning. This is a chocolate coffee with a hint of spicy cinnamon. It is rich but not too sweet and the flavor is not over powering. It is what I would consider a medium blend. It is smooth with low acidity taste. There is no after taste. The arouma is not really strong. I do not think everyone will like this one as it is so unique tasting. I was very surprised that my husband likes this one though. He tends to be picky and does not like very many coffees. I would recommend this coffee for those who like a wide variety of coffees and also for the chocolate lover that also likes cinnamon.

So I must admit I ordered both this flavor and the Pecan praline flavor when they were on sale (Just in case)…

My 15 yr old was the first to get a cup, then after he went ga-ga over it my husband, and then I finally got one (which I am enjoying again morning as I write this)

I love this coffee! I don’t normally drink Mochas or mocha coffees, but this cup of the Mayan Chocolate Coffee is great, it just isnt chocolate it is the other spices that make it so interesting. It “almost” reminds me of a morrocan coffee I fell in love with at a Morrocan restaurant in Dallas (I need more of that), but the chocolate adds a different flavor, texture, smell and experience.

After I read the first review I was not sure if or how’d I’d like this, but I am glad I tried it…. I will be back for more.

I will be adding this to my favorites and I thinkg the 48 that were delivered yesterday will be getting reordered soon… Today is Easter 2010, actually I think I will take some to my sister’s for the rest of my family to enjoy also (I talked everyone into getting a Keurig, so I always share flavors i like).

This stuff is SO good! I really like it a lot. It’s the first coffee I have ever found that truly tastes like chocolate. Usually ‘chocolate truffle’ coffee smells great but doesn’t come through with flavor…this Van Houtte Spicy Mayan Chocolate is deliciously chocolate-flavored by contrast. To me it tastes like a blend of 25% hot chocolate and 75% medium roast coffee. Enough said! I highly recommend these K-cups, especially for a change. When ordering, I noticed several people mentioned the lack of chili pepper-like spice in their reviews, so I was not expecting that type of “spicy” flavor. I find the cinnamony spice to be light and more of a pleasant cinnamon aftertaste, to me this coffee tastes primarily chocolate.

I’m a flavored coffee drinker only, and add flavored creamer too – so am by no means a “real” coffee-drinker, but I do like a few cups a day of a “coffee beverage” and so far this is my favorite one of all flavors of all brands!

With a name like Spicy Mayan Chocolate I was expecting something with at the very least a hint of spice and hoping for a little bit more spice, as in the chili pepper kind. This coffee has no spice, and I don’t even notice any cinnamon flavor, just a bit of chocolate flavor. On the plus side it is not at all bitter or to strong and still has a pretty good flavor.

I have tried them all…all the brands on Amazon, that is. Some have been less than thrilling and some pretty good. The Senseo Espresso Coffee Pods are the best I have found. You can make a great cup of coffee…I wouldn’t really call it espresso with the convenience of a pod. I read a tip somewhere on Amazon about wetting both sides of the pod and it was the best tip I got in 2008. The resulting coffee is rich and full flavored, without bitterness. I think I will stick with Senseo Espresso. I did not use the special espresso pod, just the usual one pod holder, and it worked fine.

These pods are excellent. They are great hot or cold. I did not purchase the special pod holder; I believe the regular single pod is just fine.

From all the original Senseo Coffee Pods, I like this variety best.

I follow the rules and prepare it using the Senseo HD7003 Espresso Pod Holder – that means it will be a smaller cup (not really as little as an Italian Espresso shot), but you can always use your regular Pod Holder, if that is too strong for you.

The prepared coffee has a nice Crema and great taste. In the morning I heat some milk in the microwave and whip it using an Aerolatte Frother to make a very quick Cappuccino – the way I like it :)

I enjoy my senseo so much more now that I have these pods. I had worked as a barista for 8 years and was having a hard time adjusting to life without free lattes. I certainly won’t say that Senseo espresso by itself is in the same league as freshly ground, coffee shop espresso, but having the freedom to easily and cheaply make my favorite coffee drinks at home has been a Godsend. I usually mix two shot of Senseo espresso with a spoonful of Xylitol, a spoonful of Black and Green brand unsweetened cocoa powder, and a splash of half and half for a sugar-free mocha that tastes almost as good as one from coffee shop, but for about a quarter of the price. Try it!

I use one ‘Espresso’ on top of one ‘Dark Roast’ for a great cup of coffee.
